These instructions below will take you through the process to create and download your certificate from PayPal.

These instructions below will walk you through the process to download your certificate from PayPal. Have a pen and paper ready, as there are some pieces of information you may want to write down.
Log in to your account at https://www.paypal.com/∞.
Click the "Profile" subtab.
Under the Account Information column, click the "API Access" link.
Click the "Request API Credentials" link.
Select the radio button next to "API SSL client-side certificate."
Check the box next to "I agree to the API Certificate Terms of Use, and terms incorporated therein."
Click "Submit."
Make a note of the information provided on this page (API username, API password, etc). You will need it later.
Click the "Download Certificate" button.
You may receive a pop-up asking if you would like to "Open" or "Save" the file. Select "Save."
In the "Save As" box, select the location where you want to save your certificate, (ex. Desktop, My Documents). Note where you save it, you will need it later.
Change the "Save As Type" drop-down menu from "Text Document" to "All Files."
Click "Save."
